Today's forecast:

Frosty ... with a chance of snowmen!

 Perhaps it's the triple-digit heat and my attempt to cool things down a bit,
but I've been busy building snow folk!
Hope to have them finished this afternoon.

Back to the meadow ... ♥ Vicki

Throwback Thursday

This picture was taken roughly 15 years ago in Rocklin, California,
when the local newspaper did a feature on me and my business.

Walk down memory lane with me, please, because
Homespun Hugs and Calico Kisses
is celebrating an anniversary!

I can hardly believe it but I'm proud to announce that
Homespun Hugs and Calico Kisses is 25!
25 years … practically a lifetime.
They say, "Do what you love
and you'll never work a day in your life."
It's true.
I can’t even begin to imagine how many dolls I’ve created over the years.
Wish I’d kept track.
This business has traveled around the world with me (Tokyo, Japan
... and across the country, too (Delaware, California, and Texas).

I still remember my very first craft show in Lewes, Delaware.
I made rabbits … yep, that's all ... just rabbits.
{ Hey, stop laughing! This was back in the late 80's and rabbits were BIG!! }
I was so excited … my new “career” was going to allow me to make money while staying at home with my 2 little ones. I’ve always been crafty and I loved to sew { I had a degree in Home Economics, for goodness sake! }. It was a win~win situation.
But alas, my hopes were dashed when I didn’t sell the first rabbit!
Did I let that stop me? Nope!
{ And yes, I’ve been called stubborn on more than one occasion! }
I simply added to my repertoire … raggedy dolls and Santas and bears … oh, my!
I’m happy to report that my next craft show was a resounding success!

And so it goes…
25 years later, I’m still at it.
How lucky am I to get to do what I love?

A big thank you to my family, friends, and loyal customers
for their support over the years. I certainly couldn't have done it without YOU!
