How R you?

My hubby and I went junkin’ this weekend … and look what I found!!

A BIG 3-foot vintage industrial metal letter R!
I fell in love with it at first sight!
:::swoon:::

I pointed at it and nudged my hubby, stammering, “I want it!”
He glanced at the pile of junk I was pointing at, “You want what?”
“That!!”
R you kidding me?!” he said.
Did he actually think I was joking? He’s lived with me for nearly 27 years!
You would think that by now he’d be used to my quirkiness!
Certainly he remembers that my maiden name
begins with the letter R.
Isn’t that reason enough to want
a HUMONGOUS letter R?!

“What are you going to do with it,” hubby asked.
“I don’t know, but I’ll think of something,” I said. “And, besides, it’s only $1!”
That’s right! The guy selling it only wanted a buck for it!!
And these days, you can’t even buy a vowel for $1!!

“I know what this is about,” he said. “You think Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz (American Pickers) are going to buy that R from you!”
“We’ll see…,” I smirked.
I know one thing for sure, that letter R is worth more than I paid for it
and I’ll prove it to him, if I ever decide to part with it.

Hubby grumbled all the way to the car while carrying the R.
{Did I mention that it weighs a ton?!!}
And all I can say is, that R still speaks to me.
Which is more than I can say for my hubby! (Just kidding!)
Give him time, he’ll come around…

This blog post was brought to you by the letter R!
(Sorry, I couldn’t resist!!)
