Trick or Treat!

A little Halloween humor!  : )

And speaking of  treats...

I won this sweet Halloween Candy Dish gourd in a trivia contest on Facebook!

I would have filled the happy little gourd with candy to take his picture ... if I had will power. :::heavy sigh:::

You see, I purchased several bags of candy in anticipation of trick-or-treaters on Halloween. 

I opened the bags and poured the candy into my witch candy bowl ... and that's where my story takes a turn for the worse!!

What you see in the Jack-o'-Lantern's mouth is all that is left! Oh, the shame!

So ... I will purchase more bags of candy, but they will remain unopened until Oct. 31st!! 

That's my story...

and I'm sticking to it!  :::fingers crossed:::

Tea Party

I had such fun at A Wicked Tea yesterday!

So much eye candy ... and real CANDY!!

Glass jars and beakers filled with candy!

And we helped ourselves...to a sugar high!!

And speaking of sweet ... Miss Cindy Mayfield was the Hostess with the Mostest!

The cottage was spooky...

and festive!

We were treated to lots of  goodies...

and to-die-for scones!!

And as if the candy wasn't enough ...

more sweets!!

Did I mention cupcakes...?

And more cupcakes!!

And umbrella drinks with dancing skeleton straws!!

Cindy challenged us to create our own name badges.

This is what I came up with...

I met the nicest ... funniest ... most wonderful women!!

And took incredible classes taught by amazingly talented artists!

Santa Baby!

New pattern!!

Not a creature is stirring … except this darling Santa mouse who is peeking out of a vintage leather baby shoe!

The grungy mouse sports a painted-on burgundy suit which is embellished with chenille and black buttons.

He holds a little homespun stocking!

You Are Special Today

My daughter is coming over for dinner tonight and I will set her place at the table with a RED PLATE.

We incorporated the tradition of the RED PLATE when my children were very young. To mark special occasions or achievements, my son or daughter would find the RED PLATE at his or her place at the table. We honored birthdays, sports wins, good report cards, school awards, lost baby teeth, etc., with the “You Are Special Today” RED PLATE. Even my husband or I, on occasion, was lucky enough to be the recipient of the RED PLATE treatment! Everyone in the family knew that the RED PLATE was cause for celebration … and if it happened to be put out in your honor, it just made your day a little more special!

And if you’re wondering why my daughter is being served dinner on the RED PLATE this evening … it is because she was honored as
“Teacher of the Month”!

I am so proud of her!! Kudos, Whitney … and Job Well Done!

And just between you and me, I think teachers should eat off of RED PLATES every day!
