A fun mini banner to display at Halloween!
Of course, you may tweak the banner ... and use any word or combination of words that your ♥ desires
(i.e., substitute scrapbook paper for the sheet music to create a Happy Birthday Banner)!
What you'll need:
Cardboard
Black grosgrain ribbon
Black glitter
Metal eyelets (6) and an eyelet fastener tool
Scissors
Hole punch
White glue
Rubber cement
Step 1
Tear out 3 pages of sheet music from a vintage songbook. Cut each page to measure 5” x 8”.
Open the word processing program of your choice.
Select your favorite font (I used Bodoni MT Black - size 130).
Type a B on your document making sure it is centered in the middle of the upper portion of the page.
Test print using a sheet of plain white paper first to make sure the letter prints correctly!
Insert one page of sheet music in the paper feed of your printer.
Print the B on one page of sheet music.
Repeat the process 2 more times, printing O on the remaining sheets of music.
Step 2
Draw a 2¾” (width) x 3¾ (height) triangle on a scrap of paper.
Cut out the paper and use it as a template to cut out triangles from each printed sheet of music.
Step 3
Using rubber cement, glue the triangles to a piece of cardboard.
Cut out triangles. Glue sheet music or scrapbook paper to the back of each triangle, too.
Step 4
Using a hole punch, punch 2 holes at the top corners of each triangle.
Add metal eyelets to each hole.
Step 5
Glitter the edges of each triangle with black glitter. Allow glue to dry.
Step 6
Thread a 24-inch piece of black ribbon through the metal eyelets.
Hang and enjoy your B-O-O banner!!
E-Z...P-Z, right?!
